In 1983 I graduated from Weber State College and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. I was stationed at many different duty stations including Fort Bliss, Texas; Fort Carson ,Colorado; Fort Lee, Virginia; Worms, Germany;  Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Lewis, Washington; OPMSANG, (Office of the Program Manager, Saudi Arabian National Guard) Al Hassa, Saudi Arabia; Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Fort Douglas, Utah.

I commanded at all levels from Platoon to Battalion. I was the Battalion Commander of the 196th Support Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade for two years from 1998 to 2000.

As a young Lieutenant, I was a Mechanized Vulcan Platoon Leader. A Vulcan is a 20mm; six barreled cannon used to shoot down aircraft.

I was the Company Commander of HHC 32nd Support Command, 32nd Air Defense Command, Worms Germany. I was responsible for the real world pre-war training and administration of over 180 soldiers and officers.

I was a military advisor in post Gulf War Saudi Arabia, training Saudi Arabian soldiers modern warfare and logistical techniques.

I commanded the 196th Support Battalion at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. My Battalion was responsible for the training of National Guard and Army Reserve Logistical soldiers and officers in Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, Saipan and Tinnian.

My final assignment prior to retirement was in the 3/360 Support Battalion, Fort Douglas, Utah. That Battalion was responsible for the training of National Guard and Army Reserve Logistical soldiers and officers in Utah, Idaho, Montana, part of Colorado, and South Dakota.
